About Me
I’ve been sewing for over 50 years — it’s in my blood. My mother was a professional seamstress, and she introduced me to the joy of sewing when I was very young.
I started by making clothes for my dolls and Barbies, then quickly moved on to sewing my own wardrobe. Through junior high, high school, and into college, I made nearly everything I wore. When I got married, I turned my attention to the home — sewing curtains for every room and even teaching myself how to make slipcovers and do upholstery.
My journey into quilting began with a basic class at a local Viking sewing dealer. Halfway through, the instructor quit — but luckily, I later got help from a wonderful teacher at Mid-Appalachian Quilters (MAQ). That was back in 2003 or 2004 (before I knew to label my quilts!).
Since then, quilting has become my passion. I’ve taken dozens of classes, attended countless quilt shows, and even earned a few ribbons along the way — including Best of Show at the Frederick Fair in 2007 for my version of McKenna Ryan’s Storybook Farm.
In 2006, I began teaching quilting at my local Joann store. Since then, I’ve taught at quilt shops, spoken at guilds, and presented trunk shows across the region. Teaching and sharing my love of quilting has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
Today, my work focuses on memory quilts — deeply personal creations made from clothing, photographs, and cherished keepsakes. These quilts are often made for special occasions and serve as lasting reminders of love and connection.
I also design original quilt patterns, which I sell directly to customers.
If you have a special project in mind, I’d love to help you bring it to life.
